wreck of the Anne at Pett Level
A glimpse of the Anne a ship that was run aground in 1690 after being seriously damaged by the French navy in the Battle of Beachy Head. Her captain, John Tyrell ordered her to be burnt to prevent the French claiming her as their prize. It can only be spotted at extremely low tide when the sands have moved off it, which is a rare occurrence.
