Thin David - no cause for alarm !!!

Anyone who's been into the gallery since early 2021 might have noticed that there is a lot less of me than there used to be. This is the result of two years of running and one year of fairly strict dieting. I bumped into someone in the street the other day who said that it was nice to see me 'out and about'. The phrase rang a bell but it was only later I realised that this is what you say as encouragement to the mortally ill who have bravely ventured outside. Maybe they meant it in the sense of 'out of the gallery for once'. But whichever...

Got a nice email from gallery customer Peter Noakes who has spent 3 days (blimey!) making a lovely stop frame animation of Lego trucks assembling our jigsaw of Mermaid Street. Do take a look it is really well done. Thanks for sending me it Peter. David

Like many photographers a terrible storm is just what I need to get out taking pictures. As I have found before, weather like this is impressive and exciting to look at but hard to photograph. Eveything is a bit grey and hazy, and the movement is what is exciting about a strom. So the obvious problem is finding something that expresses that. Big waves under the pier a very wet pier someone leaning into the wind

Not really a gallery picture, but I liked this so much I thought it needed sharing. Having said that do let me know if you want a limited edition print of this - it could be done. Shot last week at about 1AM from my kitchen back door in Tenterden. I post pictures like this now and then on instgram @purdiegallery David
